This week saw the nomination committee for pop/rock museum/archive/expo centre Rockheim’s Norwegian popular music’s Hall of Fame unveiling its list of 15 nominees for the honorary award. The nominees had to meet a set of criteria, most notably having made their album at least 25 years ago, meaning that all nominees released their debut albums prior to 1985. Based in Trondheim, Rockheim is Norway’s national, governmentally funded museum, archive and expo centre for pop and rock. Rockheim collects archives and disseminates key memorabilia, releases, artifacts and other assets of Norwegian popular music dating back to the 50s up until the present.
