The latest sales figures from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors show that domestic music sales (including both physical units as well as digital downloads) rose with 3% this May. Sales of physical units remained stable compared to Msay 2007 while digital downloads rose with 43% compared to last year.

Sales of singles were down 11% in value while DVD Music releases rose a whopping 93% in value compared to last year.

So far in 2008, 3,2m physical units have been shifted, resulting in a turnover of NOK 179m. Digital downloads have generated a NOK 23m turnover so far this year. Sales of both physical and digital units in 2008 are down 2% so far this year. sd
