The latest sales figures from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors show that soundcarrier sales (including both physical and digital products) dropped with 8% in February 2007 compared to last year. Sales of physical goods were down 14% compared to February 2006 while download sales increased a whopping 122%.
The domestic percentage in February ended at 32% - compared to last year this is a reduction of 19%.
Sales of singles were down 60% in value while DVD Music sales were down 58% in value compared to February 2006.
Total sales so far in 2007 amount to 1,3m albums, 66 000 singles and 44 000 Music DVDs resulting in a turnover of NOK 81m ($/€). Download sales have generated a turnover of NOK 7m ($/€). Combined sales of both physical units and downloads have increased with 5% so far in 2007.
