Earlier this week, Norwegian extreme metal ambassador’s Satyricon took home the prestigious Golden God Award presented by Metal Hammer. In competition with such heavyweights as Bleeding Through, Clutch, Cathedral and Meads Of Asphodel, Satyricon won the Golden God Award in the ‘Best Underground Band’ category.

Satyricon released their latest album, ‘Now, Diabolical’ (Roadrunner Records International), in late April to great critical acclaim at home and abroad. The album entered the domestic sales charts, the VG Lista topp 40 at no. 2 and performed well for a substantial time period.

Upcoming Satyricon gigs abroad include performances at Belgium’s Graspop in Dessel (23rd of June), HellFest in Nantes, FR (24th of June), Vigala Hard Rock Laager Festival in Estonia (1st of July), Metaltown and Arvika festivals in Sweden (7th and 14th of July respectively) and Earthshaker Festival in Kreuth, DE (20th of July). sd
