Sundfør’s recent Live At The Office concert, held at the premises of LPO architects in Oslo, turned out to be a lyrical, fragile yet intimate meeting between the artist and a cast of visibly moved office workers.

In addition to playing well known songs Sundfør also used the occasion to debut brand new material. The stunningly beautiful ballad Memorial was finished just half an hour before the concert was broadcasted live on national radio. Watch Sundfør spellbinding an entire office of architects here:

'Live at The Office' is a live concert series presented by the Music Information Centre Norway and NRK, the national Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. For a series of intimate concerts, MIC invites musicians to perform on an unlikely stage for a live concert; the office. Watch intimate video performances of your favorite Norwegian artist, recorded live at MIC’s Oslo office or in selected locations throughout the country.

Susanne Sundfør was born and grew up in Haugesund, Norway. She currently resides in Oslo. Over the years Sundfør played a long list of gigs at home and abroad with a 2005 gig with Tom McRae being one of the highlights.

Often compared to songwriters such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King, Sundfør also draws inspiration from artists like Jeff Buckley, Radka Toneff, Ane Brun and Thomas Dybdahl.Her lyrics often deals with personal subject matters such as “Africa, America”, “Time out, time”, “It’s all gone tomorrow” or contemporary issues (“Opium”).

March 2007 saw the release of Sundfør’s first self-titled album “Susanne Sundfør”, which was bestowed with highly positive reviews. She won the price for “best female vocalist” at the 2008Spellemannspris – the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy Award, and was nominated in the category “newcomer of the year” as well. Sundfør’s second album is entitled “The Brothel” and saw its release in March 2010. The album received rave reviews from all Norwegian newspapers and waas nominated for 3 Spellemannspris Awards.

Through Grönland Records, ‘The Brothel’ is set for a release on May 20th in Germany, and on May 23th in the rest of Europe, preceded by the single of the same name.

Sundfør will be also performing a series of shows across Europe in support of the album release including a run of shows in Holland, Germany and France as special guest to Thomas Dybdahl – more on the tour here.
