The fifth instalment in the Jazz in Norway series, ‘Footprints’ focuses on the late 60s and 70s with its far reaching exploration and new styles such as fusion and folk-tinged improvisation. Jazz releases on the domestic market increased during the 70s and new clubs and festivals helped spawn a new generation of performers that included such performers as bassist Arild Andersen, vocalist Radka Toneff, pianist/band-leader Per Husby and bands Moose Loose and Bodega band. The repertoire on ‘Footprints’ span from traditional mainstream and swing to more experimental fusion and folk-music inspired stuff.
