Herman Wildenvey ranks amongst the finest and most important of Norwegian poets from the first halve of the twentieth century.

On this recording actor Rune Temte reads a selection of Widenvey’s poems accompanied by violinist Ole-Henrik Moen. The violin –as well as an occasional saw- is for the most part in dialogue with the words, functioning more as herald and dramaturge than seeking to play with the poems.

The result is a compelling presentation of Wildenvey’s poetry, ironic and amusing as well as profound and moving.sd
