The October sales figures show an increase in sales of domestic repertoire of 20% in volume and 15% in value. Over the course of the ten first months of 2004, sales of domestic repertoire rose 26% in volume and 20% in value compared to 2003. So far in 2004 domestic repertoire maintains a 24% stake of the market – a healthy recovery for a market segment that in the past has had a stake as low as 9-10 per cent.
Total phonogram sales in October are down 7% in volume and 10% in value compared to 2003.
Sales of CD albums are down 5% in volume and 9% in value compared to 2003.
Sales of singles are down 33% in volume and 33% in value compared to last year.
DVD music sales continue its downward trend – down 34% both in volume and value.
Total accumulated sales so far this year amount to 9,5 million albums, 695 000 singles and 192 000 music DVDs representing a turnover of NOK 657m ($104m/€80,67). This is a decrease of 2% in volume and 5% in value compared to last year.
