This week sees highly successful two-man production unit Stargate performing well on the Billboard charts with no less than two tracks on Top Ten. Occupying no. 4 is Chris Brown and his With You while no. 7 is held by Rhianna with her Don’t Stop The Music.

In addition to the two Top Ten tracks, an additional three Stargate-produced tracks are found in the Top 30.

Says Stargate’s Mikkel Eriksen to Norwegian regional newspaper Adresseavisen: “Last week resulted in our five top tracks being played more than 40 000 times on radio. It’s wild! Still, we’re aiming for no. 1 and we believe it can happen really soon. Our understanding of how the market and the charts function is continually improving – we pay close attention to radio chart performances and sales figures and see a pattern that looks really promising.”

In addition to their Billboard success, Eriksen and partner Tor Erik Hermansen have received no less than six Grammy nominations. The most prestigious nomination is the coveted Record of The Year, a nomination the two received for their work on Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable”.

The award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on Feb 10th. Says Eriksen: “It’ll be great to be at the award ceremony as a Grammy nominee. After all, it’s the world’s most prestigious music prize and we as producers are equally as nominated as the performing artists are.” sd
