Madrugada’s latest outing, ‘The Deep End’ has proved to be a major success for the band with rave reviews and domestic sales in excess of 70 000 units. After having topped the Norwegian sales charts for weeks, Madrugada continue their campaign abroad with a No. 1 spot on the Greek sales charts. The band, which has its origins in Stokmarknes and Sortland in Northern Norway, outpaces such international major acts as New Order, Green Day, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and 50 Cent on the Greek market.

For a number of years, Madrugada have enjoyed a loyal following in Greece, resulting in healthy sales and prime-time slots at major festivals.

Says Madrugada manager Stephen Ewashkiw to Norwegian daily VG: “Being No. 1 in Greece is great – it’s fantastic news for us. The album was released in Greece on 21 March, debuted at No. 4 and goes straight to the top now.”

‘The Deep End’ has been released throughout Europe with exception for the UK will follow along later with USA and Australia.

After seven weeks on the top three spots on the national sales charts, Madrugada’s ‘The Deep End’ is still holding the fort on the domestic scene with a No. 3 spot.

Madrugada will head out on an extensive European tour in May, playing gigs in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Greece. More details here . sd
