Monday this week saw Thomas Hansen, aka Saint Thomas (born 1976), being found dead in his Oslo apartment. Hansen, who had enjoyed a distinguished career as a highly respected composer and performer would reach only 31 years of age.

The Oslo Police Force reports that the singer-songwriter was found deceased in his Oslo apartment on Monday evening and an autopsy scheduled to be performed later this week. Says Knut Skjelvan of the Oslo Police Force: “There is no indication that Hansen’s death was caused by a criminal act.”

Hansen rose to attention with his debut “Mysterious Walks” (Racing Junior) in 2002. A total of six albums were released on labels Racing Junior, City Slang and his own St. Thomas Records culminating with 2006’s “There’s Only One of Me”.

Over the last six years, Saint Thomas played countless gigs at home and abroad, performing at such key festivals as Roskilde, ya and Quart as well as a high-profile performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall with Lambchop.

According to Hansen’s website, twelve tracks had been recorded for a forthcoming album titled “A Mouse in a Crowded House”.
