In the recent years, hyper-creative outfit Supersilent has put out some of the most challenging and rewarding improvised music that’s released on disc or played live. “6” is Supersilent’s fourth album, a release that sees the collective moving effortlessly between moments of almost ferocious noise and austere beauty, often combining the two to create a subtle yet forward wall of sound out of which the slightest details are slowly coaxed. More than anything, “6” is an uncompromising recording full of passion and guts but at the same time the album has also a certain depth and movement to it that makes it utterly approachable. The level of unspoken understanding, interplay and clarity of vision in experimentation is literally beyond words.sd
