Cato Salsa Experience kicking off US/Canadian tour

One of Norway’s hottest musical exports these days is Cato Salsa Experience. Fresh from their successful stay in Japan, this energetic combo is off for an extensive US/Canadian tour.

Cato Salsa Experience

Cato Salsa have experienced international attention matched by few other Norwegian acts. Their “A Good Tip For A Good Time” was released to wide critical acclaim in Norway last year. US based indie label Emperor Norton caught word of the solid release, and licensed the recording for world-wide release. Japan was excepted from this deal as major label Epic picked up the licensing rights for the land of the rising sun. To date the album has sold more than 20 000 units in Japan, with sales figures for the rest of the world picking up fast.

To boost the interest pending the release of “A Good Tip…” Cato Salsa Experience are now joining celebrated Swedish garage rockers The Soundtrack of Our Lives for and extensive tour that covers major cities in the US and Canada.

Interest has already picked up with favourable captions in Rolling Stone and Village Voice. Vanity Fair’s monthly music edition has devoted space for an extensive interview, pictures and reviews.

Says front-man Cato “Salsa” Thomassen to Norwegian daily Dagbladet: “To have this kind of publicity and at the same time being able to tour across the US is what we feel success stands for.”
