Trio Mediæval to play New York dates

The stunning vocalists of Trio Mediæval are set to perform in the New York area this weekend.

Trio Mediæval

Anna Maria Friman, Linn Andrea Fuglseth and Torunn Østrem Ossum, the three sopranos of Trio Mediæval display stunning versatility and skill in successfully incorporating sacred medieval polyphony, traditional melodies from their native Norway and more contemporary vocal compositions into a seamless fabric of breathtaking music. Like Roman candles set off in an empty black night, these brilliant voices soar and fill a silent space with an original sound that is at once thrilling, captivating and quite tender.

Trio Mediæval have recently completed the recording of their second album. The recording session took place in St. Gerold in Austria in early April.

Trio Mediæval have previously released one CD – the acclaimed 2001 album “Words of the Angel” on renowned German label ECM Records.

Trio Mediæval are set to perform five concerts from June 21 – 23 at various locations in the New York area. Go to MIC’s calendar section below for more info.
