Ralph Myerz and The Jack Herren Band to open Glastonbury

Key exponents of the so-called Bergen Wave, hi-energy, percussion-driven electronica outfit Ralph Myerz and The Jack Herren Band are set to open the huge Glastonbury festival in England.

Friday 23rd June will see the vital Bergen electronica collective opening the huge 2004 Glastonbury festival in England. Ralph Myerz and The Jack Herren Band are set to open the music fest at the festival’s main stage.

Says Ralph Myerz’ drummer Tarjei Strøm: ”This is the best start we could possibly get for our two-month festival tour – it’s a great honour to play the main stage at such a renowned festival. The Ralph’s are immensely thrilled – this is going to be such fun. We feel as if we’re little boys that have been allowed to fool around on the big boys’ playground, however it’s not going to deter us from delivering a rock-shock early in the afternoon.”

Last year’s Glastonbury festival openers were massively successful UK glam-rockers The Darkness.

Other headliners on the Glastonbury roster include Sir Paul McCartney, Muse, Black Eyed Peas, Chemical Brothers, Joss Stone, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters and Morrisey.
