Turbonegro to release new album

One of Norwegian rock’s flagships, death-punks Turbonegro, are currently working on a follow up to their massively successful 2003 album 'Scandinavian Leather'.

Turbonegro are currently hard at work in Oslo’s Crystal Canyon studios, preparing what is to be the follow-up to their massively successful 2003 Burning Heart album ‘Scandinavian Leather’. The working title of the forthcoming album is rumoured to be ‘Babylon Forever’.

The album is being produced by Steve McDonald, know for his work with Beck and Redd Kross.

Says guitarist Euroboy (aka Knut Schreiner): “We’ve got 11 hits, all of them beautifully negative switchblade serenades.” Bassist Happy Tom on the other hand compares the new material to “Joan Jett, early Van Halen and Shostakovich, Stalin’s in-house composer.”

The album is scheduled for release in April 2005.

In late December, Turbonegro head for the US west-coast to play three gigs in San Francisco (Thrasher Awards) and Los Angeles (House of Blues).

Turbonegro have invited Queen Of The Stone Age Josh Homme's The Eagles Of Death Metal to open on the 19th and ex-QOTSA Nick Oliveri's Mondo Generator to open on the 20th. There is also rumours of SoCal punk legends The Adolescents joining the bill on one of the nights, which will be the first ever Turbojugend US World Convention with fans travelling from three continents to attend.
