This week sees Madrugada launching their extensive European tour in support of the band’s latest album ‘The Deep End’. Madrugada’s 26-date May/June tour covers Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Greece, Switzerland and Austria. Key appearances include gigs at central events Southside and Hurricane festivals.

Madrugada are also set to play Tromsø’s 46664 Arctic Nelson Mandela tribute festival in June alongside such artists as Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox, Bono and Queen.

With domestic sales in excess of 70 000 copies since the late February launch of Madrugada's fourth album, 'The Deep End', it is a confident and eager band that heads out on an Extensive European tour in May. With gigs in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Greece, Madrugada are set to reach out to the band's loyal following, a following that has been built up the old-fashioned way over the last five years; non-stop touring and world-class performances in Europe as well as the US. Madrugada enjoy particularly strong followings in Germany and Greece but other territories have also opened up, resulting in healthy sales and a loyal audience.

Madrugada are also scheduled to play a high-profile support slot gig at this summer’s REM concert at the Ullevål Stadium on 22 June.

Support acts for Madrugada’s European tour have also been confirmed. From May 9-13, on the Scandinavian dates, support comes from American songwriter David Mead. His new mini-album was produced by Tchad Blake, the producer who mixed Sivert's solo album. From May 16-20, Chris T-T, a singer from England, will support. He shares the same management as Madrugada and supported Madrugada on some UK dates last year. Finally, from May 22-29, Norway's Vidar Vang will open for the band. Vidar comes from Northern Norway near the town where Robert grew up.
