Although dates are not yet confirmed, Norwegian electronica outfit Royksopp is eyeing a fall North American tour in support of its upcoming Wall of Sound/Astralwerks album, ‘The Understanding.’ Beforehand, the group will stage a three show mini-tour in the US: July 13 in New York, July 15 in San Francisco and a previously announced July 17 gig in Los Angeles with Basement Jaxx.

Also confirmed is an appearance at the U.K.'s Bestival, to be held Sept. 9-11 at the Isle of Wight. Super Furry Animals, British Sea Power, the Go! Team, 2 Many DJs, Two Lone Swordsmen and Lee "Scratch" Perry are also on the bill.

Röyksopp are also scheduled to play the Roskilde festival’s main stage.

"Doing a lot of live shows will have an effect on things like sales and marketing, but then again, that's not really the reason why we're into this," Royksopp's Svein Berge tells Billboard.com. "It's about music."

’The Understanding’ is reported to be significantly more vocal-oriented than Royksopp's 2002 debut, ‘Melody A.M.’ Berge and colleague Torbjorn Brundtland admit they're still mulling how to reproduce those songs in a live setting.

"We'll just play it by ear," Berge says. "There are some ideas, but they're not too concrete at the moment. I'll just have to be secretive and evasive." One option is for the pair to sing the parts themselves with the help of a Vocoder, which has previously been employed to replicate the studio vocals of Kings Of Convenience's Erlend Oye on the club hit "Poor Leno."

"That has been an important instrument for us live, so far," Brundtland says. Adds Berge, "After all, it's electronic music, so we feel we're at liberty to f*** around."
