Tord Gustavsen Trio settling in at the pinnacle of international jazz.

In terms of critical reception very few new jazz ensembles of this millennium can match the success of the Norwegian Tord Gustavsen Trio.

Tord Gustavsen Trio

Securing for themselves the embrace of an almost unanimous corps of critics already with their 2003 debut “Changing Places”, Tord Gustavsen and his fellow musicians managed the unlikely feat of surpassing this reception with their second album, this year’s “The Ground”

The record has compelled critics to display their most favourable tone, sparing no superlative or degree of recommendation.
“The Ground” topped the Norwegian pop charts the second week after its January release. In April it reached #8 on the billboard chart, placing Gustavsen in the company of international jazz best-sellers.

The trio’s great success with its two records has made it among the most sought-after jazz outfits in the world. This entails a very busy live agenda taking the band from one prestigious venue to another.

After spending the latter part of April intensely touring the US, the outfit appeared at a few select venues across Europe in May.
In early June they go back to the US to play the Spoleto festival in Charleston SC, before settling in for the summer season and its many jazz festivals in Europe and Norway.
