Turbonegro release single as exclusive mobile-download

Turbonegro’s much anticipated follow up to 2004’s ‘Scandinavian Leather’ is scheduled for release later this spring. As a teaser, the denim-clad outfit release the album’s first single Do You Do You Dig Destruction? – only available as a mobile download.

Turbonegro and Norway’s biggest telco Telenor and its subsidiary djuice unite to launch the infamous death-punkers’ new single Do You Do You Dig Destruction? as a mobile-only download. This is the first time a Norwegian band has chosen to initially release a single exclusively for mobile phones.

The song "Do You Do You Dig Destruction?" is taken from Turbonegro's forthcoming album.

"Protect the environment, buy your music digitally," urges the Turbo crew.

The song is available from djuice and Telenor in partnership with Universal Music, and can be downloaded for free until the end of April. As with all songs you buy from Telenor's music store, you can also download "Do You Do You Dig Destruction?" to your PC, make a CD copy, transfer it to other MP3 players, etc.

"2006 was the year music on mobile phones really took off in Norway. Telenor customers downloaded more than 1 million songs, and almost as many music mobiles were sold in Norway. We see that this success is continuing in 2007," says Jon Erik Haug, Director for Consumer Mobile at Telenor.

djuice and Telenor have 750,000 songs in their music store, for the second largest amount of legal music downloads in Norway.
