Turbonegro to join Marilyn Manson for a fall tour of Europe.

After spending the first part of autumn on a mammoth tour of the US, Turbonegro will head back for a tour of Europe as support for Marilyn Manson in November and December.

Turbonegro

The twenty date tour of North America starts in Chicago on September 19th and terminates almost two months later in Portland Oregon. It is a joint venture with Nick Olivieri’s (former QUOTSA) Mondo Generator. Then the band is off to Lisbon Portugal to join American pathology rocker Marilyn Manson for a 15-date tour of Europe. The terminus of this is the band’s hometown if Oslo on December 18th. The dates are as follows:

• 19.11 - Atlantic Pavillion, Lisbon, POR
• 27.11 - Zenith, Munich GER
• 30.11 - Sporthalle, Boeblingen GER
• 02.12 - Sporthalle, Hamburg GER
• 03.12 - Stadthalle, Offenbach GER
• 05.12 - Wembley Arena, London, UK
• 06.12 - GMEX, Manchester, UK
• 08.12 - Braehead Arena, Glasgow, UK
• 09.12 - NEC, Birmingham, UK
• 11.12 - Forest National, Brussels, BEL
• 12.12 - Brabanthalle, Den Bosch, NL
• 14.12 – Valby Hall, Copenhagen, DN
• 15.12 – Hovet, Stockholm, SWE
• 17.12 – Scandinavium, Gothenburg, SWE
• 18.12 – Spektrum, Oslo, NO

Thus it is no less than a fully packed fall season that is impending. And in addition, reports Norwegian daily VG, Turbonegro will reissue three old albums: Ass Cobra, Apocalypse Dudes and Never is Forever. These are albums from what was arguably the band’s unsurpassed heyday. Lacking that same creativity today, as some claim they do, it is perhaps only understandable that they wish to reissue past glories and make them new to their new fans and ever expanding audience. Touring with Manson will present the Norwegians to whole new tracts of record-buyers, for despite similarities and a shared notion of contrived music, it is not the necessarily the case that Marilyn fans will be acquainted with the death-punkers from Oslo. And so the principal Norwegian band on the global scene only looks like getting bigger.
