Healthy April sales

Music sales on the domestic market rose 58% in April compared to last year.

The latest sales figures from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors show that music sales grew a whopping 58% in April. The healthy 2008 figures can partly be attributed to a late Easter holiday and a high degree of returned products in April 2007. Physical sales rose with 58% this April while digital downloads grew 65% in the same month.

Accumulated 2008 sales amount to 2,7m physical units resulting in a turnover of NOK 145m. Digital downloads generated a turnover of NOK 18m. Combined physical and digital sales in 2008 are down 3% compared to last year.
