Tellé and Smalltown Supersound join forces for London showcase

Two of Norway’s most vital indies, Bergen’s Tellé and Oslo’s Smalltown Supersound join forces for a December showcase in London featuring acts New Wine and diskJokke.

Diskjokke

11th of December sees Norwegian indies Tellé Records and Smalltown Supersound presenting some of their prime talent at London’s Cargo.

Artists playing are diskJokke and his live band and The New Wine as well as Hot Hot Hot DJs (Tellé label founder Mikal Tellé and DJ Asel) and Smalltown`s Joakim Haugland.

Smalltown Supersounds presents diskJokke. Following Lindstrom and Prins Thomas, diskJokke, also known as Joachim Dyrdahl, is the third artist out of the innovative Oslo scene to release a full-length album. diskJokke was recently discovered by Prins Thomas who signed three tunes to his Full Pupp label. Almost simultaneously in Germany, M.A.N.D.Y, DJ T and the Get Physical Gang signed diskJokke for five other tunes to their new Get Physical sub label, Kindish. Upon hearing his 12”s, word quickly spread about diskJokke’s quirky, spaced-out and a mixture of house, Italo and disco, and he was soon asked to remix tunes for a number of artists, including Lindstrom, Spektrum and Bloc Party.

New Wine is presented by Tellé Records, the record label of amongst others Rřyksopp and Kings of Convenience, two of Norway’s most celebrated bands. The New Wine is one of the most exciting new bands in Norway and was formed just over a year ago. They create music that people can dance to, experimenting with electronic and acoustic sounds. New Wine's music has been promoted in Mikal Tellé and Kings of Convenience’s Erlend Řye’s CD covers as up and coming; and now the release of their debut single is in the pipeline. Erlend Řye sometimes even springs up to sing with them. They can be described as a mix between Datarock, The Whitest Boy Alive and Phoenix.
