Röyksopp + Robyn

Svein Berge and Thorbjørn Brundtland, aka Röyksopp, seem to have a soft spot for Swedish vocalists. The freshest track from the forthcoming ‘Junior’ album features Swedish icon Robyn who follows in the tracks of Lykke Li and Karin Dreijer.

Röyksopp - Junior

This week saw Röyksopp releasing yet another teaser from the upcoming and much anticipated third album from the hugely successful electronica duo. ‘Junior’ which is slated for release on March 23rd.

Earlier this year, the duo successfully released their Happy Up Here track which represented classic Röyksoppesque throbbing beats and vocals performed by the duo. ‘Junior’s’ other tracks also features vocal contributions from Swedes Karin Dreijer, Lykke Li as well as Norway’s Anneli Drecker. The Girl And The Robot released this week features the unmistakable voice of Robyn who adds spice to the dark but infectious single.

Since their 2001 debut with ‘Melody A.M.’, Röyksopp’s Svein Berge and Thorbjørn Brundtland have achieved what most of their Norwegian peers can only dream of: massive sales at home and abroad, a string of coveted award as well as a solid revenue stream generated by sync rights. Berge and Brundtland followed up with 2005’s ‘The Understanding’ which spawned such hits as Only this moment as well as healthy sales.

The Girl And The Robot can be streamed from Stereogum
