Tiar
Tiar is new trio that focuses on music with contrasting roots: the Middle East and Norway. With a repertoire that includes original compositions as well as renditions of traditionals, the three musicians with highly diverse backgrounds fuse elements from folk music, contemporary post-classical and jazz. Improvisation is a key element of Tiar’s sound which encompasses groove-based and extrovert passages as well as sombre, intimate and lyrical pieces. The trio’s overall ambition is to create a joint form of expression for, and a unity of music from Norway and the Middle East.
