The positive sales trends continue into the autumn. Compared to last year, September sales on the domestic Norwegian market are up 50%!

For the players on the Norwegian music scene, the latest figures from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors makes for some enjoyable reading. Compared to 2002, sales of phonograms are up 50% in volume and 66% in value in September.

Compared to 2002, albums sales are down 7% in volume and 6% in value.

Sales of singles are down 5% in volume and 1% in value compared to 2002.

Sales of music DVDs is the fastest growing segment of the market with a whopping 135% increase in volume and 109% in value.

Sales of domestic releases are also showing a positive development with as much as 27% of all units shifted being Norwegian products. September 2002 saw a domestic percentage of 17%.

Total accumulated sales in 2003 amount to 8,2 mill. albums and 810 000 singles sold resulting in a turnover of NOK 571 milll (USD 81,8 / € 69,4).

Other 0,9% (-0,5%)

The total turnover in August amounted to NOK 92,7 million.
