Come 3 March, London’s popular Fabric club will be invaded by more than 30 Norwegian acts that are set to play all three rooms at the hot club. Jazz, pop, rock and electronica acts that range from DJ Annie, Bugge Wesseltoft, Bjørn torske, Satyricon, Mial Telle, Xploding Plastix, King Midas, Nils Petter Molvær, Magnet, Magne F (of a-ha fame), Wibutee, Biosphere, Frost, DJ Strangefruit, Trulz & Robin, Ost & Kjex and many more are set to make a lasting imprint on London’s live scene with a night that will have more than Norwegians celebrating a hundred years as an independent nation.
The Fresh Air night is staged as a collaboration between the long-standing club concept Sunkissed Live led by club veteran Ola Smith-Simonsen and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in London. Fresh air is part of the Royal Norwegian Embassy’s 2005 programme of events in the UK to mark the centenary of Norway’s independence, a programme that includes music, festivals, exhibitions, theatre performances and seminars.
Says Ola Smith-Simonsen of Sunkissed on the upcoming event:” After putting on many Sunkissed Live events in Norway, I am very excited to showcase the stunning music that my country produces in the UK. At what promises to be a very special event.”
Fresh Air will be recorded for Paul Thomas One World on BBC Radio 1 and Fiona Talkington’s Late Junction on BBC Radio 3.
