The Nisswa Stämmen gathering of Nordic traditional musicians claims to be the biggest and best gathering of Scandinavian musicians in the US.

The gathering is part of the Nisswa Stämmen Nordic Folk Music Festival which unfolds on June 10th and 11th in Nisswa Minnesota.

The festival will be attracting more than 100 musicians; a blend of renowned soloists and ensembles from Scandinavia and American performers and groups.
Among them are two exiting young fiddlers: Alicia Björnsdotter and Emma Reid from Sweden; and Britt Elise Skram & Vestnes qvartetten, an outstanding gammaldans quartet from Norway featuring hardingfele player and flat fiddler, Britt Elise Skram

The festival will also feature musical workshops focusing on Norwegian and Swedish fiddle traditions, as well as a range of family activities including dancing and storytelling for the children
