The latest market report from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors show that sales of domestic repertoire has grown 40% in volume and 14% in value compared to last year. Domestic repertoire makes up for a 36% stake of the total sales compared to 23% last year.
Overall sales of phonograms are down 23% in volume and 30% in value compared to 2004.
Sales of CD albums are down 25% in volume and 31% in value compared to last year.
Sales of singles are down 23% in volume and 31% in value compared to last year.
Sales of DVD Music releases are up 28% in volume and 7% in value.
Total accumulated sales in 2005 so far are 5,6m albums, 317 000 singles and 129 000 Music DVDs amounting to a total turnover of NOK 376m (€ 47,7/$ 59,4). This is a reduction of 14% in volume and 13% in value compared to 2004.
