According to the latest sales figures, record sales remain stable in September on the Norwegian market. Domestic repertoire continues its positive trend and now holds a 31% stake of the market.


The latest sales figures from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors show that phonogram sales remain more or less stable on the domestic market. 1,3m units were shifted in September, resulting in a turnover of NOK 83,7m ($15,7m /€ 11m) – a reduction of 4% compared to last year.

Domestic repertoire maintains its strong position on the home market with an increase of 55% in volume and 67% in value compared to September 2004. Domestic repertoire sales accounted for a 31% stake of the market.

Measured in sales volume, CD sales remained more or less stable compared to last year, while there was a 5% decline in value.

Sales of singles are down 32% in volume and 40% in value compared to September 2004.

DVD Music sales are up 59% in volume and 22% in value.
