Kvedar in Reykjavik

Kvedar perform at the Nordic House in Reykjavik

The group Kvedar presents songs which originated in various Nordic countries and have since wandered to form a common, intertwined Nordic heritage. Their material includes versions of riddle tunes from the Eddas, songs of enchantment and entrapment from the late medieval period, and other traditional songs. The dancer Cathrine Smith became captivated by these melodies and has created dances as expressions of them: Kvedar consists of Agnes Buen Garnås N), Gísli HelgasonIS), Halvor HåkanesN), Aiva Insulander(S), Geirr Lystrup(N), Marianne Maans(F), Cathrine Smith(N) and Eli Storbekken(N) http://www.folknorth.org/detail.asp?lang=en&Nr=1252 http://www.nordice.is Time:
