90-piece orchestra. Some 40 classical and contemporary music concerts a year. Based at Olavshallen. Concerts attended by more than 60,000 persons a year. Gives school concerts, numerous family concerts, and opera performances in co-operation with the Norwegian National Opera. Most concerts are broadcast by the Norwegian Broadcasting Co. (NRK) as part of their radio concert series, Programme 2.
