Kristiansund Opera is situated in the lovely coastal town of Kristiansund, in the middle part of Norway. And has the oldest opera tradition in Norway. The nearest major towns are Trondheim and Bergen. Kristiansund is recognised as The ”opera town” in Norway. The opera tradition goes back to 1805. Kristiansund Opera Company has its own choir, Sinfonietta, Symphony orchestra and dance- and ballet school. We give our audience operas, operettas, musicals, ballets, concert, and different shows etc all around the year. Kristiansund is also well known for its tradition with ”klippfisk” and bacalao, its lovely harbour and beautiful scenery. The town as well as the opera is just filled with history.
