The Norwegian Baroque Orchestra was established in 1988 as the first proffessional and independent baroque orchestra in Scandinavia playing on original instruments. The orchestra employs the some of most prominent Norwegian baroque musicians, and has close connections to the leading early music environments throughout Europe. The Norwegian Baroque Orchestra is the backbone of the Norwegian early music environment.
