The Foundation Bergen Music Fest (formerly Bergen Blues & Roots Festival) was established in 1993 to promote music, especially rock and related forms, in Bergen and Hordaland, on an idealistic and non-commercial basis, through arranging an annual festival. Bergenfest takes place in the heart of Bergen city, using a host of local clubs, theatres, including the city’s premier concert hall, with venue capacities ranging from 100 to 2500. The festival annually attracts 35.000-40.000 people.
