Hulen started out as a bomb shelter, but in 1968, students in Bergen converted it into a club. Since opening in 1969, Hulen has been a popular watering hole for students and music lovers in Bergen. Profile-wise the main focus is rock. Every Friday Hulen has concerts with both national and international artists, most of them within the pop and rock genre. Most Thursdays are dedicated to concerts, but you will also find other happenings such as faculty parties and concept nights. Saturday means “Studentkro” with the best pop/rock disco in town. With its special atmosphere and unique location, Hulen is one of Norway’s most influential music institutions both regionally and nationally.
