YAP was started in 2004 by the popup Datarock's founding members; Ketil Mosnes and Fredrik Saroea. Datarock released their debut album on YAP in April 2005, and it turned out to be a big success both artistically and commercially. The album was nominated for several awards. Via its distributor VME, YAP has got a distribution-network in ten countries, a network that has secured a close-to-mainstream success for Datarock in Australia. Currently, the bands Noxagt, Quasimojo and Fredrik Saroea Solo are also signed to YAP. More bands will be confirmed soon.
