The Norwegian Festival of Literature at Lillehammer - the largest of this kind in Scandinavia - is in its fourteenth year of existence. The festival, arranged in the period between May and June, is an annual non-commercial celebration of literary endeavour attracting around 20 000 visitors. The festival is designed to address topical literary, social and political questions in a series of seminars and public debates open to wide audiences which does not shun polemical and provocative approaches. Each year we invite around 30 foreign publishers and translators, literary associations and literary critics which meet almost all of the Norwegian literary world.
