From the vast selection of Norwegian artists releasing self-financed albums, Howl’s ‘Repeater’ was picked up by Norway’s radio channel NRK P3 and put into A-rotation. One year after they were no longer considered to be just a promising band with potential. The debut was later picked up and re-released by EMI in 2008, and two more songs were given A-list rotation on NRK P3. By the end of 2008, Howl were the most played artist on the radio channel, even above high profiled, international acts. As finalists in the national competition ‘Urørt’ for unsigned artists, a huge buzz from their explosive live performance at Scandinavia’s largest music conference/festival by:Larm, and several performances on the most prominent festivals in the country, Howl has slowly established themselves in the upper sphere of Norwegian rock bands.
