Petter Wavold started his career in the late 1970, when he and his band became household names in Norway's most popular youth TV-programme «Halv Sju».
His solo-career reached new heights in the early 90’s, when he released the song «Æ længte hjem». The song became more or less the «national anthem» of his home-town Trondheim, and it's still as popular as ever.
The highlights of his career includes playing in front of 40.000 people in the town square of Trondheim in 1997, his sold-out 25-years annivaersary concert with many famous guest artists and his appearances in some of Norway's most popular Tv-programmes.
Wavolds songs have reached first place on various music-charts, and his songs are still played on Norwegian radio stations.
He has been honoured with the title "Trønderrocker of the year", and his album «Smil» («Smile») released in 2006, is concidered his best so far.
He is also a preferred artist by the Rosenborg football-team, which means he's very often seen performing in front of the crowds before matches, and also on the team's corporate events.
He wrote and performed Rosenborg's official cup-final song: «Vi e' stolt» («We are proud») in 2003, their crowd pleaser «Rosenborg e laget mitt» in 1991 as well as Rosenborg's 90-years jubilee song «Om vi tape så vinn vi læll» in 2007.
Wavold also made «Gull og Folkefest», the official song for Trondheim's application for the Winter Olympics 2018.
He has played more than 2000 concerts and sold more than 200.000 albums. Together with his backing-band, he still thrills audiences all over Norway
