Arne Hiorth

Arne Hiorth is an experienced musician, composer , producer, teacher and project coordinator. Hiorth has worked with top acts in Norway, like Mari Boine, Bjørn Eidsvåg, Anja Garbarek , Oslo Groove Company ( Spellemann Award for Jazz). Released his first solo album in 2004, 7 Oliphaunt Images , including top musicians like Eivind Aarset, Kjetil Bjerkestrand and Hallgrim Bratberg . He has a long history with music projects in South Africa, the most famous being the Song of Freedom musical about Nelson Mandela , performed in Cape Town in march 2006. In december 2006 he released the duet album SNOW , and toured London , Berlin and New York with this project in december 2007, 2008 and 2009.

He is presently working on several projects: 1. Norwegian Snow - duet with Helge Nysted 2. The First Music - a San music project involving o.a. Eivind Aarset and Ottar Nesje 3. North Sea Big Band - international big band with a mix of pro’s and students 4. Loops and Bridges - a pop/jazz/ambient project with singer/songwriter Oddrun Eikli 5. Momentum - jazzquartet with JB Askeland,T Hvale and H Nysted.
