Karen Rosenberg Olsen

Karen Rosenberg Olsen is a soprano from Norway. Currently she is a student of the Barratt Due Music Academy in Oslo under the tuition of Torgun Birkeland. For the academic year Karen was an Erasmus exchange student at the Royal Scottish Academy of music and drama, under the tuition of Margaret Izzat. She has also studied acting and musical theatre.

Recent performances include recitals, concert-singing, funerals and weddings and various event jobs. Karen has received various scholarships and was the winner of the Frank Spedding Lieder Prize Competition 2009. She has participated in workshops with Elizabeth Norberg Schulz, Sergio Oliva, Malcolm Martineau, Susanna Eken and others.

Karen does freelancework as a singer and as a voice teacher. For 4 years she worked at a music school for children, teaching singing, violin, viola and orchestra.

Besides music Karen has a passion for Yoga and uses it as a tool in becoming a better singer and performer.
